From your furniture idea to a finished piece

1. Share your brief

   Tell us what you need, how you will use it and where it will sit. A sketch, reference photograph or mood board helps explain the style. Include room measurements and doorway or staircase constraints.

2. Discuss the design and specification

   Work through the dimensions, layout, wood, finish and any upholstery or cane details with our workshop. Confirm the quotation, production schedule and delivery arrangements before proceeding.

3. Make and assemble

   Our craftspeople shape and assemble the wooden components using workshop tools and traditional woodworking techniques. Depending on the design, construction can include mortise-and-tenon or dovetail joinery. Ask which joints suit your piece.

4. Sand, finish and arrange delivery

   Sanding prepares the surfaces for polishing and finishing. Discuss the final appearance and care requirements with the team, along with delivery access and any assembly needs.

Solid wood, material selection and finishes

Our current custom furniture collections focus on teak. Reclaimed teak is also available by enquiry, subject to stock. Timber grain, colour and condition vary, so discuss the wood available for your project before settling on the specification.

For sourcing details, ask our workshop about the origin and condition of the timber proposed for your piece. If reclaimed teak is important to your brief, mention it at the outset so availability and suitability can be checked.

Bring a reference for your preferred colour and surface appearance. We can discuss finishing and polishing as part of your custom brief; ask to see available samples and confirm the finish, sheen and care instructions. Confirm upholstery, cane, hardware and other components separately where your design includes them.
